HISTORY OF AGDANGAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

The school started with its name Agdangan barangay High school in 1978 with only two teachers, Ms. Yolanda Paz-Babol, the pioneer teacher in said high school and Ms. Anita B. Borela, an elementary teacher at Agdangan, who worked as part time mathematics teacher in said high school. With only thirty five  (35) students in its first year operation, and then more than 70 students in the second year, Mrs. Imelda T. Lagrimas and Norma Llagas added the teaching staff in 1979. Then Mrs. Esteditha B. Panambo, English Teacher from Partido National high school added the existing 3 teachers in 1980 . During the school’s 3rd year operation Mrs. Victoria Briones became the assistant Schools principal and at the same time the school’s Principal of Agdangan Elementary School .

There was a significant in the enrolment in 1981 with 130 enrolees and Mrs. Teresita  Badiola replaces Mrs. Panambo who transferred to Pili National High school Mrs. Teresita Badiola replaces Mrs. Panambo who transferred to PIli National High School. Mrs. Tersita Benosa and Mrs. Ester Robosa were then taken as new teachers of the school. Mr. Crecencio B. Nacario joined the teaching staff in 1982, followed by Mrs. Corazon Hallare Boaquiňia and Mrs. Thelma S. Oriel in 1983. The following year 1984, Mr. Nacario Cresencio acted as Officer- in – Charge ( OIC) f the school and Mrs. Maria Theresa M> Bayta joined the teaching staff in the same year followed by Ms. Gilda B. Babol. After Mr. Nacario was promoted to another high school as School Principal, Ms. Hilda B. Babol took his place as OIC of Agdangan National High School. Later, she was also promoted as School Principal and Mrs. Helena N. Labarador replaced her position. The stay of Mr. Melecio Postrado who assumed office as school principal was short lived. He stayed at the school for only six months because he was promoted as School Principal II, the school has already an enrolment of 698 or almost 700 students.

The quest for continuous basic education became the founder’s principle where the cognitive manipulative and effective domain tof the graduates of Agdangan Elementary School have to be enhanced.

Thus, the need to open a high school in same barangay. Now Agdangan National High School is so progressive. The ownership by virtue of Deed of Usufruct of the annex school, Agdangan National High School Annex situated at the northern part of the main campus finally materialized.

The 1.5 hectare lot was owned by the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur purchased from the BIsenio Family of same barangay then, later donated to Agdangan National High School through the effort of Mrs. Esteditha Buaquena Panambo who solicited the lot from the office of the Provincial GOveror, Luis Raymund “ L-Ray” F. Villafuerte, Jr. On December 12, 2012.

The swift rise of the new extension school was supported by the Department of Education, Division of Camarines Sur, Schools Division Superintendent, DR. Gilbert T. Sadsad, now, Assistant Regional Director III of DepED Regional V and Dr. William A. Villare, the Physical Facilities Division Coordinator, DEpEd, Division of Camarines Sur whom Mrs. Panambo received a lot of the latter’s support.

Through the advise , guidance and help of Dr. Villare, series of school buildings rose in sais school site. The first two school buildings/classrooms were built in 2012, followed by six classrooms in 2013, one classroom and one WATSAN were simultaneously built in 2014, and this year, 2014 another one classroom is expected to be built again.

At present, there are nine ( 9) classes/ sections ( Fourth Year and Grade7) at the annex school and eight (8) classes/ sections at the main campus ( Grade 8 and Grade 9) wth a total of 684 enrolled students and with 25 teachers and 6 personnel ( 3 Utility/ Guard and 1 Disbursing Officer II, 1 Bookkeeper and 1 school Clerk).

And wehope and expect that more bessing swill come through infrastructures, specifically an Administrative Building where the absence of the following ancillary services will be answered, to wit: a school library, computer laboratory, science lab., etc. Will be housed.

The Performance Level (PL) of Agdangan National High School is 57% as of NAT 2013-2014 compared to last year’s 2012-2013 which is 45%
